Study Tour??? Think Again
Study tours are one of the rare words which have too many meanings...Some call it a leisure trip some call it Time pass trip, some call it a romantic trip, some call it show off trip & some call it___? You know it. Well it’s true but the definitions are based on the character of the person, what they earn from the trip. But usually it’s a mixture of both fun & knowledge as well. At the end of a hectic semester when you need a good break from college & house the savior, the study tours helps in rejuvenating one self. The real fun is with the group, if you don’t have your group then it’s not fun & pretty boring. Also the journey to the place is also fun, like in train you don’t allow your friends to sleep & then standing near the gate with your seniors & chatting.
MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina had arranged leisure cum study trip to Kerala. It was fun with all the classmates & then the best part was the professors who turned out to be sweet heart. MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina students had a great fun & full on enjoyment as well. MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina students went to media houses & printing press. The food of Kerala is one of the delicious food & one of the USP of the place. The experience of cruise & shopping was also good & the best of all was the train journey where the entire compartment was booked by the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina. In short one of the coolest & fun experience which cannot be shared unless & until you are there to experience it by yourself at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina.
The Da-Research Code?
Did you know what is more difficult than breaking the Da-Vinci Code? Any idea…Do you know what is the biggest mystery than the Bermuda Triangle? Do you know what is more intriguing that the Aliens & question of their existence…Do you know? Well the answers is simple, Research. The Research is most difficult thing to do, well if someone ask you to jump in a pool, jump but if someone ask you to do Research, never say yes. Do you know the reason why Aamir Khan became Ghajini? Because he was doing Research on Who Is Ghajini?
Well in reality doing research is not everybody cup of tea & plus you also need good professors who can guide you throughout the different stages of doing research. At MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina we get very good professors who are analyze our weakness & strengths & then help us in determining the topic of research. The method consist of lots of stages, including finding results, asking people, taking focus group interviews, calling people & asking those questions, sending questionnaire to people through mails & on Facebook. Its fun but only when you have the interest of doing a research. Lastly research is not just finding information but that information which is productive. The main aim of conducting a research is to add more knowledge to your field & on professional level. Research is very vital in the industry; organizations pay a lot to get research work done. The output that one gets through the research is very vital & professionals do implement it in their day to day work. Research is fun at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina; the fun that one goes through is awesome only at the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina . In the 2 years of MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina course we do have a mock research at the beginning of the semester & then at the 3rd & 4th semester we submit our thesis & then it gets submitted in the library of the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina . At the department of communication & journalism you get a lot of exposure & learn a lot of stuff as well & research is the best one can learn, but only at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina, remember the address.
Reality & Perception
Well this is not a love story where in the beginning the hero faces a lot of hurdles ,struggles to the core, then the hero has to entice the girl’s family, get them in confidence & then lure her brothers, close friends & then finally at the end like all our Bollywood the girl comes to the hero & it's a happy ending. Well the moral of this entire script was just to explain you that in films the hero gets a lot of re-takes to get the right shot so that he can create a good perception in front of his audience but in reality you need to be more realistic, more active, and careful & perform your own PR in front of your classmates, your teachers & this does help us in our future because somewhere down the line in future you will surely come across these people from MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina & if there was some problem between you & that person in the past then it will definitely affect you big time.
If you have ever notice you will realize that we have been doing our PR since the moment we entered this world…When we are infants we use to scream if we don’t like someone company & that person at the end calls us a mischievous child & then if we love someone company we act like an angel & thus we become angels for them…Similarly in front of the opposite sex we always try to create a good person image even though we are not that person in real. That’s called Street Smart PR. At the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina we learn that we need to start doing our PR from the word go. Anywhere we go no matter it’s family get together or friends outing, we need to do our PR 24*7…We can never be careless & always have to be on our toes. At the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina we do have visiting faculty from the PR industry in big number & if we have not created a good image in front of them today then we will surely be paying a heavy price for it in the future. . Normally what happens is that a lot of mouth publicity is done now a day’s & if there is one person who is constantly doing your negative PR then that will surely have a huge impact on your professional life as well as your personal life because if you are not settle professionally then you will never ever settle down in your personal life. In PR we learn that the most important thing for one should be his image in the public because image is something that cannot be purchased or create in some hours or weeks or month, but it takes a lot of time for someone to create a good image thus one should always give a lot of importance to it & now it takes more than an effort to create a good image. Today people use social networking sites & blogs to create a good image & also to ruin others image as well. Anyways being a MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina student, we get a lot of experience in terms of practical knowledge as well as theoretical. Various different crises situations are given & then we are asked to find solutions for it & then we are also given hypothetical situation where by a company is planning to rebuild their brand & want a PR campaign so then we create a PR campaign for them & then we get feedbacks on it from those who are a part of the industry & thus it becomes very useful. Therefore whenever we enter the main field we will always have a upper hand & thus that’s the reason the PR professionals have a very positive perception towards the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina students.
Exams The Dark Lord Virus
Since the beginning of the human race we have been subjected to many examination & hurdles. Many great men came & vanished in the dark sky but none could dethrone the ultimate virus. Great men like Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & hardy, Jim Carrey, Arnold Schwarzenegger & many more came in but failed to win over the dark lord virus. Then one day an evil scientist invented syrup which promised immortality. None believed the evil scientist, but The dark lord, virus creature. He then went to him & asked him for that syrup & gulped it into his immune system & became immortal….
Exams have been our greatest enemy ever since we joined nursery school, no matter it’s our vacation when we use to get our report card right before our family picnic & if by chance we get a red remark in our report card, then no enjoyment, no fun, no cricket, no outing with friends nothing. Exams have always been a reason for Chintu losing out on his bicycle & it has been a reason for
Bunny to miss out on his best friend’s birthday party. In short it has always ruined our days & nights, but at times it has also been our greatest friend, yes that’s true but only applicable to those who have succeeded in scoring 35+. But at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina, it’s a different story all together. Here the teachers are calm & we are composed because of them. The subjects are interesting & even if they are not the teacher make it more interesting by setting up assignments which are more of fun & less of work. We are asked to Create PR campaign & then presenting it in front of the class & getting feedbacks that moment itself which are really useful for future presentation. At the point of the exams there is less pressure on us since we cover up lot of marks in our internals & also we gained a lot of confidence from the marks we get in our internals, all thanks to our teachers. At the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina department of communication & journalism exams are not so tough because the paper is purely based on practical application & unlike other exams which we have appeared for in the past, here there is no need to be a book worm. The schedule for the papers is set as per our comfort level. We get sufficient time to complete our projects on time & at the same time get time to prepare for our exams. There is a lot of understanding between the teacher & the student that’s why always before any decision is taken they always take our suggestions or at least let us know about their plans & ask for our inputs if there is a need. Thus at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina there is always a good chain of communication that is shared between all the stuff members & the students & there is a lot of transparency which adds more confidence to the student regarding his future & the time & money that is being invested.
Depth of the Mumbai University
“A beautiful day is waiting for you, walk with aims...run with confidence, fly with your achievements, so get it; make it a day worth living”. Well your wrong this is not the tag line of Mumbai university but a simple quote being copy paste from GOOGLE which is the whole & sole reason for the bread & butter we earn at the time of our projects & submissions but what I actually meant from the quote mentioned above is that This is the ultimate feeling that one feels being at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina, the department of communication & journalism. The MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina is one of the best places that promote not only education but nature as well & puts in a lot of efforts to saves the eco friendly environment, sustaining the greenery & not destroying it by turning it from a green jungle to a concrete jungle.
Anytime in the university is the best time to be, because there are no specific timings that people can promise that no this time you will get this as compared to other shifts but MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina truly represents the happy go lucky feeling of a university. The morning lectures usually starts at 10:30 followed by a Tea break then back to lectures, then a big break for lunch & then if there are any lectures to be taken starts from 2:00 pm & goes up to 4:00 pm (MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina Timings). The classroom at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina, are powered by MAC PC’s, plus there are projectors which again makes our work more easy & better during projects. The classrooms are pretty big & spacious & enough ventilation spaces are provided to make it cooler. Good news no oxygen masks are needed now at the time of emergency. It’s been a year since the lecture commence & the best season in the university has been the monsoon season which makes the university look more beautiful, more romantic & by far heaven as compared to the high street towers & the never ending concrete jungles, sprinkled with heavy noisy traffic. It’s beautiful, the entire place at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina blossoms & the fresh air you get, is absolutely for free!!! Moreover the small ponds that are formed during the monsoon season & little water fall’s from the tree branches & other secluded areas which are not used adds more beauty to it… The chirping of the birds at times makes you go into a transitions, a new world which is the ultimate USP of the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina. The evening time is more special as you can time the departure of the bats…yes there is this huge gang of bats that hibernates from the university trees to some unknown place around sunset...if you are standing at the top of the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina departments building you can hear the bursting of the clouds during the rainy season, you can see the sunset when the sky is clear, see traffic from a far distance, and see the fog that has covered the entire suburban area during winters & many more, only at the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina. Well if you want to experience all this for free, get yourself enrolled for the course today & special offers for those who call up in the next 24 hours, the no is XXXXXXXXXXX.
Biting each others nails
This is real & only possible at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina , this is what usually every single person doing PR at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina in my class goes through. When it comes to submissions & projects…This is in short the life@MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina. Very rightly was said by the father of Doctor Rustom from Munna Bhai, he says,” Beta Khawanu Pewanu Mazaa ni life”… we follow that rule at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina. But again when it comes to performances we have already outsmarted our seniors & aiming to set higher bars for the next batch & so on. The main idea of this professional course at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina is to give every student a close encounter with the real world. Here we don’t just pay the fees & chill around the university, but even if we do plan, we have Meenakshi ma’am (I’m not acting like Sashi Kapoor of Zanjeer)…well she is that one person who will never let you forget two things…One that you are Big enough to produce kids & Second that It’s your parents who are paying for you, till the time you don’t start earning you will never to come know the real value of money. Well back to the assignment anxiety topic yes we all get anxious at the time of the submissions, biting each other nail’s, pulling & tearing each other’s clothes & as the time gets nearer & nearer, some try to do heroic stunts by going 1st to present…Well history suggests that those who have succeeded have shot to fame & those who failed have forgotten their aims. The professors at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina are very generous when it comes to internals, no matter it’s a presentation or a submission, all you have to do is send them a mail on the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina Google groups or an SMS, that’s it!… you must be thinking what happens next, nothing much, either the teacher reads out you message to the class & makes fun of your grammar or murders you on the group by giving you a heavy dose of words & quotes from PR professionals & then tags everybody so that they can take a lesson from it & at the same time, laugh at it. But at the end the life@ MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina is the best place to invest your money with great returns promised…at least better than our government. Then see you at the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) Mumbai University, Kalina.

The neutrons & protons of the department
It’s been almost 6 month since I have joined this course (MAPR (Masters in Public Relations))& let me tell you that it has been the one of the best days of my life. The entire journey of giving the entrance exam at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations), then the personal interview & finally hitting the jackpot has been the best thing that has happen to me in my life. I have been obliged to be under the guidance of professors at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations)like Ms. Meenakshi Upadhyay & Our very own ‘DCP’, the ever smiling Mona Lisa Ms.Daivata Chavan Patil.
Then you have some teachers at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations)who make you feel as if ‘Gabbar’ was his/her cousin because the moment they enter the class room you hear that same old background score which was used for ‘Gabbar’ & then at one point you feel as if the teacher at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) will ask you,’ Abey Oye Kaliya Ab Tera Kya Hoga Re’…. & finally your dream bubbles burst out& you realize it was just another night mare? This one is Ms. Reena Sharma who is now one of my favorite teachers at the University. Then Ms. Jayshree Ma’am whose smile is always questioned? Why because you can never make out what is that smile for. Is she thinking? If yes then what? Is she planning another nuclear type assignment for us? If no then what is cooking in her deadly brains? Well by the time you try to solve this Da-Vin-Chi code the lecture is already over…The support staff is very friendly & the only time you hate them is when they tell you that you have been charged with late fees for submitting your fee 10 days after the due date. Then we have our so called seniors & let me tell you they have set a high bench mark for us, except in studies at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations)
Last but not the least is your classmates. If god forbidden you don’t have samples in your class then your 2 years is a just a waste of time & money because there is nothing to learn from a class whose students are not maniac & mad over department (M.O.D).I am lucky enough to have such good & talented classmates with me. Yes it’s a different thing all together that their performance is worse every time they set out to perform & that encourages some shameless people like me to come late too & waste time & don’t submit projects on time & give a list of excuses, exclusively for MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) students for free, free, free… So I hope now you understood what is the U.S.P of MAPR (Masters in Public Relations)? If you didn’t understand read it once more.
Time machine
If you want to make god laugh, just tell him your future plans'. Similarly it has never been easy for me to predict my future ever as I have always got something unexpected & out of the blue. The advent of MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) in my life has set open new & exciting gates for me in my life. The field that I have chosen is said to be the next rising power in the world after the Nazis… But the question arises, where do I see myself 2 years down the line?
‘The one who goes through the journey of MAPR (Masters in Public Relations), is only promising to those who have what it takes to be the best in the field', quoted Meenakshi ma'am, a professor at the department of communication & journalism. Well that's true because it's Masters & it's not a piece of cake but at the same time it's not even rocket science. I don't want to waste words by telling you ‘my prediction' about ‘my future' but what I can do is tell you what this course has given me till date & what it promises to. Being a part of this course makes you understand the market more in detail, how brands use PR as tool to overcome crises situation & how journalist enjoy the press releases & press conferences. The way you pitch your PR ideas to the client & how creative can you be in your presentation is totally your cup of tea, because it finally depends upon the fact how much you desire to fill it. The best part about PR is the campaigns. There are no limits as far as the creative aspect goes in a PR campaign. It's more of a 360 degree approach where we try to cover all that aspect that pulls the target audience towards the brand. So at the end of the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) course one will realize that he has now not mastered the art but made him realize that practice will make him a Kung Fu Panda for sure.
In the near future when we finally withheld the Master's Degree in our hands that will be the point where you will feel the need to learn more & excel more because there is no point in life where one will ever get satisfied & the hunger to learn will motivate him to push himself harder & harder till he gives up.
MAPR… Yehi Hai Right Choice Baby aha…
The course MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) on the whole offers a lot than it promises. Why? It’s because of the people that comprise of MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) .The professors who live every day only to figure out what different can we do tomorrow. What factors can we add to this course to increase its popularity & it’s USP among people & what could they do to encourage student s to have the courage & the willingness to do something different in their lives. Every day is like a new day at the MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) department of journalism & communication where professors sit together & ideate about tomorrow & think how can they push the students beyond their comfort level & excel in the world which is waiting for it desperately.
Then comes the roots of the department the students… the best thing that I have seen about this department is that till date you will find the Ex-Students of MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) coming in & sharing their experiences & how things were at their time & how it Is now & what difficulty they had to face & how it has become more flexible & more interesting. Well we still have some who come in as guest lecturer as well & the entire class session becomes more interactive because they are teacher cum student so the whole experience is just amazing & super fun only at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations). Then it’s the existing students that is the seniors & the juniors & the fun we have is just mind blasting & together we enjoy like nothing ever before. All thanks to us since we allow our seniors to enjoy our company…Joking. But as time passes by everything become tougher & thus there is always a need to excel & improve just like Apple products which keeps stretching the imagination of its customers & gives more than what one ever expected. So at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations) all that change we need is to let the bar of performance reach new heights & set new records every time a new group comes in & let the world know about the MAPRites MAPR (Masters in Public Relations)…Every year old student’s leaves & new comers come in but the tradition of the departments stays forever & ever…Thus it’s the students & the culture that we practice at the department that makes all the difference & the tradition will keep getting carry forward by individuals & performance wise we will always keep setting in new bars & take upon new challenges at MAPR (Masters in Public Relations).
The 3 Musketeers of the Department
The Department of Communication & Journalism offers 3 courses…Masters in Public Relation, Masters In Communication & Journalism & Masters in Electronic Media. These courses are run in the administration of 3 people. Ms.Meenakshi Upadhyay, Mr.Sanjay Ranade & Mr.Mangesh Karandikar. These 3 people have taken complete charge of this course & let me tell you the problems & accusation & allegation they have faced & the storms they have faced, still they are able to sail across calmly & without any hiccups.
I would like to call them The 3 musketeers of the department. We start with meenakshi ma’am. Well she is awesome as an individual & a Rock star as a professor. The cool iced customer who never loses its temperament so easily & instead of wasting time thinking about the loss she focuses on the next fight & starts analyzing from the word Go. She is currently pursuing her P.H.D degree & is buzzy with her thesis but still she finds out time to check who is attending college & who is not & always there for students to share their personal problems with her & how beautifully she comes up with answers & solutions to it. The best part about her is that she is able to understand every individual on a personal level & the connection she creates with everyone is just speechless & no one can ever beat her in that. I personally look up to her to take more encouragement & confidence. She is a perfect role model for all those who wish to excel in life & perform better at the professional level.
‘With great power comes great responsibility’, this quote goes for the next person we are going to talk about.Mr.Sanjay Ranade cum Ra.1 cum Rajnikant of the department. He is an absolute dude who is a cool as a cucumber & a style icon which is very rare in the Mumbai University where you see more of modesty coming out of their shirts & a jungle on the head which is never taken care of. Last but not the least is Mr.Mangesh Karandikar. He is a person who believes only in performance & less in words, Bole toh ‘No’ Bol Bacchan & only performance. He is always there to support students for any initiative the students plan to take no matter it’s a festival celebration or events. Thus I feel these are the pillars of our department without whom this wouldn’t have been possible, besides there are many more who we can talk about but even if you ask them the same question you will get the same answer.
The Duel of Life
My experience in P.R has been a great one. Beginning from the Interview till today. It was like I’m in a game wherein I had to cross all the levels with my ability to get into P.R and the difficulty increased at each level, I was quite confident that ill crack all the levels! The game began, Level one: My entrance test was good and I had performed well. Level two: group discussion, my performance was appreciated by everyone present out there, and that helped me increase my confidence level. Then was the final level, Level three: Personal interview, wherein I had a personal one on one session with the boss of the department...There were questions thrown on me on contemporary issues and how will I balance between my job in MTV and the course..But I was able to deal with them strongly...And the final question was why did I choose P.R? I was able to justify myself by telling them that I’m here to fulfill my hunger & thirst, that is to excel individually.
And yes I had crossed all the levels and now what was left was the result! The question that was raised in my mind was will my hard work be paid? Will I get what I deserve??? And the result was announced...Yes, I was a part of the lucky 20...I had won the game! I had successfully defeated almost 120 students in each level and was among the top 20 winners. I still cherish this moment of my life! But amongst all this happiness, there was a little part of me which was still alone...Not happy...This little part had gone through one of the toughest times of his life...This little part was hesitant and nervous on the first day of his lectures. But whatever happened on that day was unexpected...The professors’ were welcoming...The seniors were guiding us...Do this don’t do that and all! The interaction amongst everyone was commendable! Staying in the university till late evenings with friends doing projects and presentations was one of the best times I had with them. All these beautiful experience helped that little part of mine to Smile...To breathe again! This wouldn’t have happened without all of them. Then came the class presentations for which I was appreciated a lot and my professor had invited my group for a dinner! Yes, I was feeling lucky! Then came the I.V trip to Kerala...I had not been out for a trip since ages...So was super excited for a learning and thrilling experience! I did learn a lot...saw new things...New things? Different pictures of everyone .hmm…Let’s not mention it...Let it be a secret!! Now after all this fun...Waiting for my results which will be out pretty soon...I’m sure it will be turn out to be another success for me! And a stepping stone for my great future!

The Struggle For Moksha @ MAPR
' When the morning sun rises & kisses the feet at door step of MAPR , it feels like paradise where knowledge is the rare gift of life hidden in many shelf’s & ready to be gifted out to people and that it calls out to all its followers to come and be a part of it and learn as much as they can so that the moment they step outside the Mumbai University ,Kalina campus , they should be known as the gems from MAPR & no longer be known but a common man '.Those who dedicate their lives in search for the light finally lands at the MAPR department and attain Moksha for eternity.
The duration of the MAPR course is 2 years which is divided into 4 Semester & each semester we learn about the various aspects of PR & also keep our self-updated with the ongoing scenario in the world of PR & also trained for the Research thesis which we need to submit at the end of the year. Any ways back to where we were, as I stated earlier these men & women come here to attain Moksha but after attaining Moksha they don’t just go away like that, but they come back to the department, in the new Avatar, of guess lecturer like Sagar Karande or Jayshree ma’am &it is fun to be with them.
But the real question that I know is popping in your mind is ‘who are the true pillars of MAPR’? It is the chancellor of the University? No. Is it the education minister? No. Or is it the owner of the POTOBA hotel which is right outside the university? Well it’s neither of them but it’s the join force of some simple yet superhuman in themselves. Sanjay Ranade leads the league from the front as the head of the department followed by Mangesh Sir the all-rounder of our team & then finally comes our lovely Ms. Meenakshi Upadhya who is the Robin Hood of MAPR, whose priority is to safeguard the interest of the students. Moreover we have visiting faculty from the corporate MAPR Masters in Public Relationsfield share their experiences which is pretty handy to oneself and it is more of fun and learning with them since the assignment given to us are pretty challenging but at the same time it teaches us many things like group discussion and co-ordination and for some leadership skills.
